I posted a blog a few weeks ago asking for your help.  Here is an update on my co-worker that you prayed for a month and half ago.  This is from the blog that she was keeping, outlining the fight of her life:

God Gets An Angel

Erika died of cardiac arrest at 4am on November 1st surrounded by love from her husband Andrew, Mother Laura, Brother Evan, sister-in-law Michelle, and parent-in-laws Doug and Chris.


Her death was caused by a combination of cancer, lung failure, and heart failure. A bowel blockage in her intestines created by the cancer stopped food digestion and resulted in the build-up of gas in her stomach. This build-up of gas created pressure on her lungs reducing oxygen intake and ultimately causing cardiac arrest.


Erika was the most beautiful and charismatic person I have ever known. She loved everyone and lived every moment to the fullest. When faced with the daunting diagnosis of cancer she did not run and hide but took it head on and created a blog to inform others of her progress. She loved reading comments posted on this blog and insisted in posting a blog whenever possible. Thank you for all of your support and kind thoughts.


Today God has one more angel helping him and I know she looks down on all of us with the same love and smile that brightened my day every day.

Erika - You never got to be a mom, a job that you would have been so good at.  Your first grade students looked up to you and respected you like you were their mom.  Please take care of my Quinn, and be the angel mommy to him that I can't be here on Earth.  We'll miss you.
